1 Samuel 18:6-19:7; Isaiah 59:1-21; Romans 4:23-5:11

Since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness. 2 Peter 3:11, NKJV

The above verse asks an excellent question. We are quick to excuse poor conduct as a lapse in judgement or a slip of the tongue. After all we’re human. Although technically true, God’s Word never condones ungodly behavior. God’s standard for our conduct is His holiness. Peter reminds us that we are to be holy in all our conduct, because He is holy (1 Peter 1:15). May our lives reflect His holiness today. —E. V.

By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct, His likeness shall see.  —William D. Longstaff
