DAILY READINGS: Gen. 4:1-5:32; Job 6:1-7:21; Matt. 4

How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? Hebrews 2:3

There are various ways in which men may respond to the gospel message. To those who reject it, we warn, “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Then, there are those who neglect the salvation God offers—they are indifferent to it—and according to our verse, “they will not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3). Unsaved soul reading these words, we plead with you, neither reject nor neglect God’s offer of salvation, but receive it through our Lord Jesus Christ, before it is too late. —W. H. Burnett

Time is gliding swiftly by, death and judgment draweth nigh,
To the arms of Jesus fly, be in time. —William. J. Kilpatrick

DAILY READINGS: Gen. 3; Job 4:1-5:27; Matt. 3

Jesus…said, “It is finished.” John 19:30

A young man, burdened with his sin, cried out, “Sir, please tell me what I must do to be saved.” The answer came back, “You are too late! There is nothing you can do; nearly 2000 years ago everything that was needed for you to be saved was done by the Lord Jesus Christ when He died in your place on the cross.” Yes, He finished the work and is now waiting and ready to save you. Are you trying to earn what Christ has already paid for you? Come to Him and receive eternal life as a gift by putting your faith in Him (Romans 6:23). —David Croudace

Weary, working, burdened one, wherefore toil you so?
Cease your doing; all was done long, long ago.
Cast your deadly “doing” down, down at Jesus’ feet;
Stand in Him, in Him alone, gloriously complete.—J. Proctor

DAILY READINGS: Gen. 2:4-25; Job 2:11-3:26; Matt. 2

Christ died for us. Romans 5:8, KJV

During a political revolution in a South American city, the bullets flew, and frightened bystanders ran for cover. Many fell wounded and dying in the city square. A lad ran for cover behind a large tree just as a bullet embedded itself in the trunk. When the firing ceased and all was safe, he dug the bullet out with his knife, and with deep gratitude carved in the scarred trunk, “God bless this tree.” The tree saved his life; and the death of Christ on Calvary’s tree can save your soul.

It was for me, yes, all for me, O Love of God, so great, so free;
O wondrous love, I’ll shout and sing,
He died for me, my Lord and King! —John M. Whyte

DAILY READINGS: Gen. 1:1-2:3; Job 1:1-2:10; Matt. 1

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Today, as we were chatting at the table about the tragic circumstances of some children, I made the comment to our visitors that many people don’t have a chance. One of our friends responded, “Some have a poor start, but everyone has a chance.” How true. The day of grace is still upon us and Jesus invites you to come, in repentance, to Him today. Trust Him for salvation and know His forgiveness and cleansing. You will have a new start. —J. Fleming

He died to make the way for you, so you might be forgiven
So you can know that you are on the road that leads to heaven.

Reflection on the Year that was 2021

Approaching the end of 2021 and we reflect on all the challenges and changes during the past 12 months, dealing with the Global COVID pandemic along with all the rules and restrictions imposed by the government leaders and health authorities. We were forced to “shut down” to the public, and then permitted to open with limited capacity, wearing face masks, and the constant sanitizing of all public surfaces.

All this providing a history making year, and the importance of depending on the Lord for wisdom in all our decision making. We wanted to continue to serve the Lord’s people in a safe and responsible way to protect our customers and our staff.

During the year our graphic designer was expecting her first child and left our team after serving for 10 years with the ministry of Gospel Folio Press Trust. In August she left us and they now have a beautiful daughter (Violet). She is now being a full time mother and wife. In July we welcomed Janice Nicholson to join our team and we appreciate her being such a help in many areas of our operation.

The year of 2021 marks 98 years of the Lord’s provision, protection and preservation of the ministry which started in 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by the Pell Family. After all these years we have confidence to trust the Lord for the future and each new day. During this time the Lord guided the ministry through some challenging times such as; world wars, the Great Depression in the 1930’s, sweeping the world with viruses, financial challenges, personnel changes, and many other difficult times. Therefore, we have confidence in the continued faithfulness of our Lord and Master.

This past year we were able to continue with the publishing of several new books and the 2022 Choice Gleanings Calendar. Also we selected quite a number of new titles from other Christian publishers and suppliers. Bringing our selection of titles in stock to approximately 6800 titles including a large selection of Bibles in the different translations and assortment of bindings and covers, from bonded leather to top quality goatskin leather.

We consider it a privilege and honour to serve the best of Masters in the ministry of serving His people from all different areas of the world. Sharing Gospel literature for Evangelistic outreach efforts in different areas. Please continue to pray with us that the books, Bibles and Christian literature will be used by the Lord to bless the hearts of the many readers bringing honour and glory to His Name.

As we approach the New Year of 2022, we want to thank all our wonderful customers and all our faithful donors who send us donations to support the ministry of Gospel Folio Press Trust. Please continue to remember us in your prayers.

Genesis 18:1-33; Job 21:1-34; Matthew 10:1-23

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:17
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

The stark contrast between these two statements of Scripture raises a question. Why would God forsake the Son in whom He had previously declared all His pleasure? Psalm 22:3 provides the answer; “But thou art holy”. God’s holiness required Him to forsake the Son in whom He delighted, punishing Him for your sin and mine. May our hearts overflow with thanksgiving and praise as we remember Him, and the price He paid to secure our salvation. —E. V.

Lord Jesus, we remember the travail of Thy soul,
When thro’ Thy love’s deep pity, the waves did o’er Thee roll. — J. G. Deck

Genesis 17:1-27; Job 20:1-29; Matthew 9:18-38

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth. Acts 17:26

Humanity has been divided by boundaries, ethnicities, political allegiances and languages. Some hide behind these differences saying, the gospel works in your kindred, but not ours. The Bible makes sense in your dialect, but not ours. Your party believes, but not ours. These arguments are insults to God’s wisdom, love and righteousness. God is determined to disprove these excuses by redeeming people out of every nation, tribe, people and tongue (Rev. 5:9). God so loved the world. —J. A. Bjorlie

With harps and with viols there stands a great throng,
In the presence of Jesus and sings this new song;
Unto Him who has loved us and washed us from sin,
Unto Him be the glory forever. Amen. —A. T. Pierson

Genesis 15:1-16:16; Job 18:1-19:29; Matthew 8:28-9:17

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Matthew 28:20

Observe that in the Great Commission there are no divisions of doctrine into “fundamental,” “secondary” and “non-essential”. Such divisions are man-made and contrary to the Lord’s clear command and the apostolic example (Acts 20:27). Today many do not want to be held accountable to obey all things, but preachers and teachers should be faithful to the Lord, not the crowd. We are to live “by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:19). —Carl Knott

How firm a foundation you saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! —John Rippon

Genesis 13:1-14:24; Job 16:1-17:16; Matthew 8:1-27

Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Psalm 119:23

Faced with enemy collusion and verbal persecution, David turned to meditation on God’s Word. In this cacophonous world, it is often difficult to hear the Almighty’s voice. This increases our need to daily resort to the Scriptures for spiritual communion. More than just reading them, we must carefully consider them and prayerfully apply them to our lives. What attitudes need to change? Am I obedient to the Lord’s commands? Believers may safely leave the critics and skeptics to the Lord; He will eventually deal with them. Meanwhile, we must diligently contemplate His Word. —Keith Keyser

Genesis 11:27-12:20; Job 15:1-35; Matthew 7:7-29

Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

Here is a simple way to reach children with the gospel using your five fingers. There is one way to heaven—the Lord Jesus (John 14:6)! There are two choices—we can “believe” or “believe not” (John 3:36). To “believe not” results in God’s wrath. To “believe” results in God’s life. What are we to believe? Three facts: Christ died for our sins; He was buried (proving He really died); and He rose from the dead. “Four-giveness of sins” belongs only to those who believe and receive Christ as Saviour (Acts 13:38). Then enjoy these five golden words of eternal security, “I give them eternal life” (John 10:28, NKJV). The gospel is in your hand. Now, give it away! —Brian Cretney

How precious are the children to our Saviour’s loving heart;
The One who bade them come, bids us to go and do our part. —B. C.
