Beverly Snavely

Beverly Snavely was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and graduated fro the Moody Bible Institute in June 1960. She began to study women in the Bible while young and working with an evagelistic movement in Europe, generaly known as O.M.. Betty married Peter Holt in 1974. After having brought up four children, she again prayerfully took up her pen to write Roses, Marys and Others. May God bless each person who reads this work.

Dr. Roger Liebi

Dr. Roger Liebi, born in 1958, has a doctorate degree in the field of Jewish Studies and Archaeology. As a university lecturer, he has taught Archaeology of Israel and the Middle East from 2004-2011. He works as a Bible teacher and speaker in various countries and has been involved in three projects as a Bible translator. A number of publications have resulted from his years of involvement with the Scriptures and related fields of study.

Betty Holt

Betty Holt resides in Hampshire, and is in fellowship with the Ash Vale Christian Assembly in Surrey. Betty put her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 8, and at 15 years of age, dedicated her life to the Lord for His service. After graduation from the Moody Bible Institute, Betty served with Operation Mobilization for 10 years. After her marriage, she supported her husband in his ministries and dedicated herself to seeking to raise her children to the glory of God. She has been an avid student of the Bible ever since the age of 15, but has only begun writing books in recent years. Betty married in 1971, and her experience as a wife and mother is reflected in some of the pages of this volume. She has four grown-up children and three grandsons.

J.M. Davies

J.M. Davies was born near Llandilo, South Wales, in 1895. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 15 years. He emigrated to the USA in 1914 and entered the Moody Bible Institute in 1915, from which he graduated in 1917. In 1920, together with his wife, Barbara, he left to serve the Lord in Kerala Stat, South India. For many years, he preached the gospel and taught the Scriputres extensively throughout the area, leaving India in 1962. He also ministered God’s Word in the UK, the Middle East, USA and Canada. His wife died in 1968 and upon his remarriage, in his advanced years, he and his wife Sarah resided in Vancouver, B.C., and were in fellowship in the local assembly until he was called home in 1990 at the age of 95 years.

Alan Linton

Alan Linton is Emeritus Professor of Bacteriology of the University of Bristol. He was brought up in a Christian family who were active members of the Christian Brethren. Early in life he came to know the Lord and over the years has been engaged in Bible teaching both locally and further afield. His interest in Bible prophecy has increased as a result of frequent visits to Israel. As a scientist and a Christian, he has had many opportunities to speak on subjects such as Science and Faith and Evolution or Creation.

E.W. Rogers

E.W. Rogers was a well known Bible teacher among the assemblies, and travelled to minister the word throughout the English-speaking world. Brought up in a Christian home, he was converted at an early age, and was fond of books. He taught himself Hebrew and Greek. E.W. About 1950 he retired early from the Civil Service to leave himself entirely free to serve the Lord. At home E.W. became a regular speaker, not only at the conferences at which he had spoken for years, but also at the various places which had series of annual Bible Readings.

William Trew

William Trew was born in December 1902 in New Stevenston, Scotland. He trusted the Lord Jesus as a young man of 17, was baptized and received into fellowship in the assembly meeting at Shields Road, Motherwell and was commended to the work of the Lord at the early age of 19. Mr. Trew moved to South Wales in the 1920’s and shared in the gospel tent work in the South Wales valleys with Walter Norris, evangelizing and planting assemblies. Although greatly gifted as an evangelist he was also a very able teacher of the Word and in later years this became his main exercise. He ministered much on prophetic lines, but in particular he was very anxious that the principles of local assembly gathering be clearly taught.

Kenneth Morris

Kenneth Morris was born in Weymouth, Dorset, in October 1905, where as a child he attended the Gospel Hall. He was saved at 17 years of age under the preaching of Mr. Alfred Mace and was soon testifying to his new found faith in Christ. As a young man, he devoted himself to the diligent study of the scriptures, which he loved. His latter years were spent in Bournemouth, and after a life of faithful service for the Lord our beloved brother was called into his presence in March 1991.

Sam Jardine

Sam Jardine was born into a Christian home in the city of Belfast in 1904. He trusted the Lord Jesus as a young man while lying on a hospital bed. He followed his father into the Baptist ministry and after college days in Dublin, saw much spiritual blessing in several pastorates in Northern Ireland. His ministry, later in the assemblies, was Christ-centred, building up and binding together the people of God, and took him to many parts of the British Isles, the Channel Islands, Canada and the USA.  In personal life, Sam Jardine exemplified the practical outcome of the truth expressed within these covers, unmistakably declaring the presence of the unquenched Spirit.

John Bennett

John Bennett has written numerous articles for assembly magazines, became a trustee of Precious Seeds Publications in 2002, and its Publications Editor in 2004.
