Stories from Luke’s Gospel

In March 2014, Gospel Folio Press released a new book titled Notes on Hebrews written by Robert Craig. This August we are excited to announce the release of another new title by Craig:

Stories in Luke’s Gospel

By: Robert Craig

Robert kept detailed notes of his Bible study and sermon preparation. When he was called home to heaven in January 2011, he left his significant library to Don Huntington of Bedford, Nova Scotia. His books are the result of a collection of study notes that Craig had compiled and filed away for his own personal reference. Gospel Folio Press is pleased to publish this manuscript for the benefit of Bible students interested in the controversial epistle to the Galatians.

ECS Ministries Books available at GFP

Another of Gospel Folio’s book suppliers is ECS Ministries:

ECS Ministries exists to glorify God by providing doctrinally sound resources and structured study materials for the purpose of teaching people from every nation to know Jesus Christ as Savior and the live in a way that is consistent with God’s Word.”

Emmaus Bible School was originally founded in Toronto, Canada by Ed Harlow (the founder of Everyday Publications), John Smart, and Ernest Tatham in 1941. When the number of students wishing to attend the school grew significantly, correspondence courses were developed on the material being taught at the Bible School for those unable to attend.

In 1949, William MacDonald began writing courses for the school and Cyril Brooks began broadcasting these courses over the radio and offering free courses to anyone who asked, opening the door to overseas ministry.

The correspondence ministry continued to grow and now provides Bible study courses for a variety of areas including Bible study, prison ministry, and evangelism. Emmaus Correspondence school became an independent organization in 2002. Nearly 20 million Emmaus courses have been distributed worldwide, bringing about the salvation and Christian growth of untold men and women.

Gospel Folio Press carries the majority of ECS Ministries’ book titles for distribution. Please browse our Emmaus Correspondence Course department at the webstore to see our stock.

The Glories of Our Lord (Reprint)

By: H.C. Hewlett

Praise for The Glories of the Lord:
“The scriptural accuracy, scope, and spiritual insights of this book will appeal to the thoughtful mind; but more, its presentation of the glories of our Lord will move the heart to kneel with the Apostle Thomas and exclaim, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Could any book do more?” ~John Smart

“The author is like a skillful musician sitting at his keyboard and pouring out his melodies; he has only one subject—Christ—and one desire—to know Him for himself and then to spread His fame to others.” ~Harold St. John

Author Bio:
H. C. Hewlett was born in New Zealand and there, at an early age, trusted the Lord as his Saviour. He studied medicine at Otago University in preparation for the mission field, but a protracted illness closed that door. God, as He always does, had another path open for Hewlett.

His oral and written ministry were deeply appreciated by believers both in New Zealand and overseas. His other work, The Companion of the Way, examines twelve outstanding men of the Scriptures and the secret of their walk with the Lord.

Marilyn McClurg – GFP Author

A brand new GFP title – June 2014!

Marilyn F. McClurg has had no public life but has lived one basically hidden except before the Lord, as many, many wives and mothers have also lived.

God has given her a desire to write of God’s glory, and of His riches, shown to her through her years as His child. Her life has been magnificently ordinary and should, thereby, encourage every reader to believe, love, and obey the Lord!

This book is the simple product of God’s investment in the author and the tangible fruit of the literary soul-gifts which He has given, the desire to write, which He has generated, and the joy of working, which He also adds to all who will do His will.

Other GFP titles by Marilyn McClurg:

Four-Hole Buttons: Meditations Prompted by a Parable (NEW)
O My Soul: Biblical Exploration of Soul-Talk
The Master’s Work
In Triumph: A Discussion of Outstanding Books and Distinguished Writers

William MacDonald: Author and Teacher

William MacDonald is one of Gospel Folio Press’s best selling authors. In his lifetime, he penned over 80 book titles, 19 of which have been published or reprinted by GFP. Many of his titles have now been translated into several languages.

A biography:

William MacDonald was born on January 7, 1917, in Massachusetts, USA. His family moved to the Isle of Lewis in Scotland not long after he was born. At the age of five, MacDonald miraculously recovered from life-threatening diptheria. He was born again at the age of eighteen to a living hope.

In World War II, MacDonald enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he had increased opportunities for evangelism and Bible teaching. At this stage of his life, he was struck by the life of C.T. Studd who claimed that “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for him.” This influence led him into full-time ministry for the Lord.

From 1947 to 1965, William MacDonald taught at Emmaus Bible School in Illinois. He served as the school’s president for the last five of these years. Following his time at Emmaus, MacDonald traveled extensively around the world teaching the Word of God.

He also established the Discipleship Interim Training Program with colleague Jean Gibson which ran from 1973 to 1995. Together they were blessed to be able to train dozens of young men in Christian service.

MacDonald continued to teach and write in the course of his travels. He was a man who lived what he preached. Loved and highly esteemed by so many, he was humble and gracious, a man of prayer and faithful to His Lord. His written ministry continues to bless believers all over the world due to the translation work of other faithful servants.

Among his most famous works are the Believer’s Bible Commentary (now translated into 21 languages) and True Discipleship (now available in 45 languages). GFP carries both of these titles in English and Spanish.

Other titles by William MacDonald available at Gospel Folio Press:
My Heart, My Life, My All

Does it Pay to Pray?
God Still Speaks
Christ Loved the Church
Singleness: A Male Perspective
The Wonders of God
Proverbs: A Devotional Commentary

If It Wasn’t for the Lighthouse

Now available at GFP – June 2014!

Bill and Irene Ridgeway served as missionaries in Ecuador with their family for many years. If It Wasn’t for the Lighthouse is an inspirational account of God’s faithfulness to them throughout their many years of service.

It was a joy working with the Ridgeway family to publish this book. The team here at GFP hopes it will be a blessing to all who read it…

From the back cover:

“It was the height of the depression and Emily Ridgeway was unsure how she would feed one more child. Yet, her prayer was strong; “Lord, may this baby be the answer to my prayer, that one of my eight children would serve You.” Years later, the answer to that prayer seemed to fade away, as Billy stood in the juvenile court, facing a third and final offense before being sentenced.

“Emily clung to the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.’

“‘Give him one more chance, your Honour.’ A police sergeant, led by God to intervene, stood up for Bill that day. He had no way of knowing the plans God had for him…traveling jungle paths in the Amazon, hiking up mountains and cobble stone streets in the high Andes and taking God’s Word to the coastal villages in Ecuador, with the important message that “Jesus Saves!”.

“As a young man, ready to serve wherever God led him, Bill chose his life verse: ‘No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier’ (2 Tim. 2:4).”

This Daniel (Reprint) – A Commentary by Harold Paisley

Coming soon to GFP!

This Daniel
A Reprint
By: Harold Paisley

A heightened interest in prophetic scriptures today necessitates clear Bible teaching. The Old Testament book of Daniel is full of prophetic language and visions. In it, the Lord has written important details regarding the future of the world. Topics addressed include the destiny of nations, the place of Israel in God’s eternal plan, and truths about the glorious kingdom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In This Daniel, Mr. Paisley seeks to unfold what is revealed about future events in the book of Daniel. This section-by-section commentary is an indispensable guide for young and old Bible students alike. All will profit from the simple exposition of the prophetic chapters. Chapter nine is particularly foundational to understanding God’s prophetic program.

In this age, it is imperative for our spiritual understanding of God’s purposes to acquaint ourselves with this intriguing portion of Scripture.
