Deuteronomy 13:1-14:21; Song of Solomon 3:6-5:1; Luke 10:1-24

Bring forth my people…out of Egypt. Exodus 3:10

When God calls us out of this world, we often find that, to get us out of its magnetic pull, He removes some  legitimate things that give ease and comfort to our lives. We need to break worldly ties and learn dependence on Him alone. Discontent with what the world feeds on will keep us content with godly joys. Dissatisfaction with our lot and comparisons with others are dangers that keep us from living by faith. God can make a table in the wilderness. The greatness of the redeemed soul is that it has the characteristics of God, not the world. —G. C. G.

The Lord hath more truth and light yet,
to break forth out of His Holy Word.  —Pastor Robinson’s farewell to the Mayflower Pilgrims
