DAILY?READINGS: Exodus 25; Psalm 69; Acts 14

And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the Lord thy God. Deuteronomy 26:4

In the offering of the first fruits, the offerer came with his basket filled with produce from the land, evidence of God’s faithful provision. It was given to the priest who would offer it to God. It was the means by which he expressed his thankfulness to the Lord. As we come together, we too should also come with baskets filled with praise, the fruit of our lips. Presented to our Great High Priest the Lord Jesus, it is then offered on our behalf as the joyful expression of a thankful heart.

To all our prayers and praises, Christ adds His sweet perfume,
And love the censer raises, these odours to consume.
