DAILY READINGS: Deut. 14:22-15:23; Song of Sol. 5:2-6:9; Luke 10:25-42

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Colossians 1:13

A wonderful spiritual transference occurs when, repenting of our sins, we receive Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord. At that very moment, by God’s power we cease to belong to the evil kingdom headed by Satan. Without any delay we are “translated” into a totally different sphere—“into the kingdom of the Son of his love” (Darby). This “translation” is God’s doing and is righteously achieved through Christ’s redemptive work at Calvary (v. 14). —George Hall

No longer far from Him, but now,
By precious blood made nigh;
Accepted in the Well-beloved,
Near to God’s heart we lie. —M. S. Sullivan
