2 Kings 13:1-14:22; Jeremiah 49:1-39; Hebrews 13:7-25

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Ephesians 4:14

Babies tend to put everything they pick up into their mouths. Therefore, their parents must protect them. Similarly, zealous immature believers can often fail to distinguish between sound doctrine and harmful teaching. All believers have a responsibility to feed upon Christ’s Word so we can spiritually grow up. As we mature, we learn to reject unhealthy teaching. Until then, seasoned believers have a responsibility to lovingly and kindly teach and guide their spiritual children away from harm. —George Ferrier
