Genesis 22:1-24; Job 25:1-26:14; Matthew 12:1-21

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow at thy presence. Isaiah 64:1

All around there is moral and spiritual darkness in this world.  How we long for God to change things right now. But God is longsuffering, and in His compassion, He waits for people to admit their unworthiness. It is in the darkness that the light of God’s Word enters an anguished soul, and by grace He saves them. Those of us who have this treasure of grace ought to be “lights” in this present darkness. —Gaius C. Goff

Tell your sons who see the light
High in the heaven — their heritage to take,
“I saw the powers of darkness put to flight!
I saw the morning break!” —Owen Seaman
