I Jesus … the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:16
Sailors in days of old knew that they could always rely on the morning star for guidance. It was a solid light—never twinkled, flashed or faded. It had an enduring glory. We are told it was an effective guide and preceeded a moderating of the weather. It has been described as a star of exquisite gentleness and appeared just before the breaking of a new day. The apostle John links this star beautifully to our Lord Jesus and His return. This title reminds us too of Hebrews 13:8. “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday and today and for ever.” —Drew Craig
Jesus, our only joy be Thou, as Thou our prize wilt be;
Jesus, be thou our glory now, and through eternity.
