DAILY?READINGS: Gen. 38; Psalms 15-16; Matt. 21:33 to 22:14

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.    Acts 20:24

It is so easy to cling to the things of this world! To hold on to the things in life that we deem precious. Paul’s single-minded devotion to the Lord here is astounding and convicting. Instead of putting any value on our desires, wouldn’t it be wonderfully God-honouring to let the one focus of our mind, time and energy be on finishing our course and completing the ministry entrusted to us?    —L. I’d rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,
I’d rather be true to His holy name. —Rhea F. Miller
