Leviticus 12:1-13:23; Psalms 116:1-117:2; Mark 3:13-35

When he was in Jerusalem at the passover…many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did…Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men. John 2:23-24

It is easy to believe in Jesus, but another issue entirely to follow Him. It is wonderful to be around Jesus when miracles are happening. It is another thing to pick up our cross and follow Him. Jesus was not impressed with the crowds that lauded Him. He knew their interests were temporary. What He looks for are true disciples, those who will follow Him despite personal cost. Let us not be shallow believers in Jesus for selfish gain, but followers of
Him as the true Son of God! —Deborah Manera

The Lord has many lovers of His crown,
but few lovers of His cross. —Thomas à Kempis
