Leviticus 22:1-33; Psalm 128:1-131:3; Mark 8:11-26

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5, NKJV

The word translated “regeneration” here is the Greek word palingenesia. Certain Greeks believed that history was moving cyclically towards a moment when the natural world would reset and start fresh. They called this  palingenesis. There is a great regeneration coming, and God will do it, when Christ the King sits upon His throne and makes all things new (Matt. 19:28). How wonderful, then, to note, that another regeneration has already happened
(Titus 3:5). God has regenerated all who trust in Christ, giving them a fresh start through being “born again”. —J. D. Fraser
