Leviticus 24:1-23; Psalms 137:1-138:8; Mark 9:33-50

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen. Revelation 1:18

A preacher was preparing his Easter message when the thought gripped his heart that his Lord was living. He  jumped up and excitedly cried, “He is not the great I was, but the great I am”. Thank God, He is the “I Am”, who lives in the blessed present continuous tense. The Saviour did die, which, thankfully is in the past tense. The tomb is empty, but the throne is filled. Rejoice, for the Lord Jesus said, “Because I live, ye shall live also” (John 14:19). He lives forevermore! —Jim Comte

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart.—A. Ackley
